Into the snow I strolled one evening fair,
to try and put some anxious thoughts to rest,
saddness, loss, and anger. borderline despair,
for far too long had been un-welcomed guests.
I saw two sets of foot prints side by side,
their story played out like an open book,
an evening stroll and judging by their stride,
they had no care for how much time it took.
Doubtless two young lovers came this way,
without a care or woe to tie them down,
left only shadows of their fond display,
which time was slowly taking from the ground.
I stopped to think, beneath a lone street light,
And sighed, and turned, and walked into the night.
